The customer doesn't have to come to any one store they normally get certificates for multiple stores so when they come in and want to negotiate the certificate it was frustrating, and I really would like to see truecar emphasize being below the center of the curve but not always wayyyyy of to the left, like truecar just believe it needs to be tweaked that's all Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29777096.post-61820870306107634072015-06-27T13:50:09.165-04:002015-06-27T13:50:09.165-04:00Dear Anonymous salesman, I can only tell you that ...Dear Anonymous salesman, I can only tell you that I've had a completely different experience with TrueCar than you, Maybe your dealer was setting your TrueCar prices too high. Remember, TrueCar does not set the price...the dealers do. I set my TrueCar prices competitively and I sell about 35 cars monthly through TrueCar. Almost every customer I worked with on the TrueCar program wanted to negotiate the truecar price! Also the TrueCar commercials are great, they show the bell curve as Earl is talking about for prices paid for that car in their area, but the customers ALWAYS want to pay the far end of the bell curve and get the "deal of a lifetime" I would be fine selling the car for just below the middle of the bell curve, but customers always want more! And truecar doesn't help in this area either, they should put more emphasis on being in the middle of the curve not always wanting to be in the deal of a lifetime area. Survival is our strongest most basic instinct and, hopefully, it will motivate car dealers to change before they vanish. Tesla is making inroads with state legislatures and federal agencies to allow them, a manufacturer, to sell cars directly to the consumer, BYPASSING THE DEALER. If they are successful, it could mean the end of car dealerships because all other manufacturers could do the same. True car is a good idea in a world full of good ideas but I don't think it will ever rule the market like Earl does as every market is different and as more dealers get bought up by giant car conglomerates it won't matter. That will be a hard road for many dealerships set in their ways. Ken Lunahttp://www.creditminer.comnoreply@blogger.com
