Here in Ocala the dealers (new and used) are real bad with dealer fees. When you question them on the fee they try every tactic to elude you to believe it something other than what it is...BS. When I tell them they can take it off the sales price, they refuse! I have walked out on a "done deal" on two dealers, one a new/used and the other an independent. I cant believe in these tough economic times they let me walk out on a 15k deal. I understand everybody has to make money but I will not pay to be their customer.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29777096.post-1166901657738668212006-12-23T14:20:00.000-05:002006-12-23T14:20:00.000-05:00If you say "no deal", there will be no deal. Cars today are not really made to order. Most people (almost everyone) are okay with mats etc.

I would suggest you lookup the fellow who staretd this thread.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29777096.post-1164880644616955572006-11-30T04:57:00.000-05:002006-11-30T04:57:00.000-05:00I went into Crown Nissan in Pinellas Park, FL, to ...I went into Crown Nissan in Pinellas Park, FL, to look at the Versa and test drove it. The one they had didn't have a couple of options that I wanted (CVT and ABS). The salesman told me I could order the exact car I wanted (color and options) and would be under no obligation to buy it. Three people told me I could do this at the dealership (INCLUDING the sales manager). They had me sign a buyer's order which they said would simply give me first chance at the car when it came in. If I didn't like it, they would sell it to someone else. I was VERY hesitant to do this, but they pointed out that it didn't have the VIN number or stock number on it. They didn't ask for any money nor did I pay them any.

Ever since I signed this paper(I have a copy), I have had a very bad feeling that I really am legally obligated to make this purchase. I would like to go back to the dealership and ask them to cancel this order.

Am I legally obligated to buy this car? Did they lie to me to get me to sign?

Another red flag was that, when building the car and going through the options, I declined the mats and splash guards at a cost of $250! The sales manager told me I had to purchase them, that it was not the dealership requiring it, but the Nissan company. I asked them why they were listed as options then. The reply was, again, it was Nissan and not themselves.

I have decided that I really don't want a Nissan Versa.

Did I get taken? Thanks for any advice. (P.S. They knew that my father had recently passed away and he was my auto information source).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
