Providing "clunkers" that were safe to drive to those who have no means of transportation to look for a job, get to a job, take their child to school, or their mother to a hospital would have been, not only the humanitarian thing to do, but an additional stimulus to our economy.

The only argument against this would be that we would not have helped our overall fuel savings by not taking these clunkers off the highways. My answer to that is that priorities must be recognized. A single mom being enabled to find a job and take her child to school trumps the loss of 5 miles per gallon in the vehicle she drive.Earl Stewarthttp://www.earlstewarttoyotal.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29777096.post-25062417261112731882009-12-28T19:35:13.354-05:002009-12-28T19:35:13.354-05:00Cash for clunkers did not benefit the new car indu...Cash for clunkers did not benefit the new car industry or the economy. It only cost taxpayers, used car dealers, auto repair shops and car donations a lot of money.Cars4Charitieshttp://www.cars4charities.org/noreply@blogger.com
